The UNESCO Chair “Women, Peace and Security: Building Opportunities and Resilience through Education and Research” of the University of Macedonia has the honor to invite you to a conference entitled “Women, Peace and Security: A Policy Agenda for Implementation” on Wednesday 13th of November at 6pm in the Conference Room of the University of Macedonia (1st floor).
In the context of the 19th anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325/2000 and the preparation of the National Action Plan for its implementation by the Greek state, the conference will discuss examples of other countries as well as areas of national and international policy that will affect.
The main speaker will be H.E. Ambassador Mark Allen, Ambassador of Canada to Greece. A discussion will follow by the President of the Department of International and European Studies, Professor Dimitrios Skiadas, the President of the Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies at the University of Macedonia Professor Fotini Tsibiridou, Expert Advisor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Michalis Retalis (via skype), and the President of SYMβIOSIS – School of Political Studies in Greece, Council of Europe – Despina Sirri. The event will be coordinated by the Director of the Chair, Assistant Professor Mrs. Fotini Bellou.
The conference will be held in English.
