The UNESCO Chair on Women, Peace and Security was formally established at the University of Macedonia, in order to highlight and support, through education and research, the empowerment of women in the range of crisis management and conflict resolution, including the peacebuilding process.
Creation of an integrated education, research, intelligence and documentation system on the WPS Agenda
Constructive collaboration with internationally recognized academics and researchers and institutions related with the WPS Agenda
Lectures and conferences in many institutions in Greece and abroad
Contribution to the promotion of the implementation of the WPS Agenda at national, regional and international level
Creation of a financial supporting and European Programs network for the WPS actions
Cooperation with UNESCO, as well as with its Chairs in Greece and abroad
